Empty Kayak In Lake Huron Prompts Search Near Southampton

Search teams are on the water in Lake Huron in Southampton this afternoon looking for a missing kayaker.

Saugeen Shores Fire Department officials are on the water in boats and are also using drones in the search

The kayak was found about 400 meters from shore just after 2 this afternoon.

However, the kayak was empty. Saugeen Shores Police Chief Dan Rivett says the missing kayaker is a 60-year-old man, a local resident, who wasn't wearing a life-jacket.
