Junior Attack Finalists in Early Bird Tournament

The Owen Sound Leeder and Associates Jr Attack Major Atom team made it to the final of the Attack Early Bird tournament.

The host team gave up a narrow 2-1 decision to the Centre Wellington Fusion team. Both of Wellington's goals came on the power play, one in the second period and the other in the third. Cohen Taylor was the lone scorer for the Jr Attack assisted by Ethan Williams and Bennett Carr.

The Jr Attack downed the Parry Sound Shamrocks 2-1 yesterday morning in the semi-final to advance to the final. Brian Corbett scored less than two minutes into the game with the Shamrocks answering less than a minute later. Cohen Taylor scored the game winner for the Jr Attack in the third assisted by Morgan Armstrong.

The Jr Attack got spectacular goal tending from Alyssa Barnard and Ethan Dunbar. The pair allowed just six goals all tournament between them.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
