Police Still Searching For Driver From Fatal Crash In Perth East

The OPP in Perth County are still looking for the driver of a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene of a fatal crash in Perth East almost a month ago.

The collision, the night of August 23, was on Perth Line 26 between Road 109 and Road 110. It involved an eastbound compact car that was passing a full-sized Chevy Express van on Perth Line 26.

A westbound Pontiac Grand Prix was forced to veer onto the north gravel shoulder in an attempt to avoid colliding with the small black car. The Grand Prix lost control on the gravel shoulder, swerved across the westbound lane and was t-boned on the passenger side by the Chevy van.

The driver of the Grand Prix, 26-year-old Jason Ramtahal of Kitchener, died from injuries he sustained in the crash.

The black compact car, possibly a Kia or Honda, continued eastbound on Perth Line 26, and was seen heading in the direction of Tavistock.

Anyone with information about this collision is urged to contact the Perth County OPP.
