Stratford Builders Association Honoured with Award

The Stratford and Area Builders Association has been recognized with the Local Association of the Year Award by the Ontario Home Builder's Association.

Ross Dale is the Executive Officer for the Stratford-based group and says they're pretty pleased with winning the award.

Dale says there are a number of criteria used when considering the winner; things like education, community involvement, and member support are just a few of the areas looked at - something the Stratford and Area Builders Association is no stranger to.

"We're a very active local for the size of the community that we're in; we've really established a good relationship with the High Schools is Perth County," says Dale. "We give them $500 scholarships every year to one student in the construction program at each of the high schools."

The Stratford and Area Builders Association was formed in 1987 and is comprised of more than 100 members.

There are 31 other local building associations within the Province of Ontario.
