Plans Unveiled For New Hanover School

People in Hanover and area now have an idea what their new school is going to look like.

Bluewater District School Board officials hosted a public meeting Wednesday night to present drawings of the site plan and floor plan. The $19.5-million facility will replace the aging John Diefenbaker Secondary School.

Bluewater Board Superintendent Alana Murray says people will have the opportunity to comment on the plans and the board will take that into consideration.

"Really it's just about celebrating and kick starting this project and informing the community about the timelines associated with the project," says Murray.

Construction is to start this fall and the school is expected to open in September 2018.

The new school will be built to the south of the old John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover and accommodate students from Grade 7 to 12.
