North Perth Open To Offers For Two Empty Schools

The Municipality of North Perth has set a deadline of mid-October for Expressions of Interest for two former school properties.

North Perth bought Listowel Central Public School for $300,000 and Wallace Public School in Gowanstown for $270,000. The process started in July and both deals closed on September 15.

The municipality initially bought the former school properties to insure the best use of the properties and to avoid any property standard issues or empty derelict buildings.

According to a staff report, it's recommended North Perth look at detailed proposals for the future use of the site.

The potential purchaser would be required to enter into a binding agreement with the municipality to insure the site is used as intended.

Expressions of interest are due October 14.
