Walkerton Hospital In Line For New CT Scanner

South Bruce Grey Health Centre will buy a new CT scanner for the Walkerton site next year.

The current scanner is 11 years old and has completed about 5,000 scans a year. The machine has a life expectancy of ten years.

The new scanner will mean significantly reduced radiation exposure for patients, and expanded diagnostics capabilities.

South Bruce Grey's local hospital foundations will help the corporation purchase the new equipment.

SBGHC was the first rural hospital corporation in Ontario to acquire a CT license and technology.
