Diver Airlifted After Medical Incident In Georgian Bay

A woman is in stable condition after experiencing medical distress while diving in Georgian Bay.

Bruce Pensinsula OPP responded to a report of a diver in distress in Little Cove about 10:30am September 22nd.

The 45 year old victim was exploring the Niagara II Shipwreck with a group, when she went into distress.

Other divers performed CPR, before the Canadian Coast Guard took her to Little Tub Harbour where paramedics took over.

She was transferred to the Tobermory Hyperbaric Chamber for treatment, and then air lifted to a Toronto Hospital for further care.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
