BASWR Thanksgiving Food Drive Successful

Food banks in Bruce County are getting a boost.

Residents along the Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling routes were very generous in the 19th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Over the two weeks of curbside pick-up donations, drivers collected 7,780 pounds of assorted food, which will be distributed to those in need in Bruce County.

Over the past 19 years, residents of Bruce Area Recycling have donated over 135,310 pounds of food.

In a news release, the company thanked everyone who donated during the food drive and also the driver staff, who donated their own time to make this a success.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
