Wiarton Man Charged With Fleeing From Police

Members of the Grey County OPP, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were called to assist Bruce Peninsula OPP on Friday after an attempted traffic stop in South Bruce Peninsula went awry.

Police say officers were investigating a complaint involving a vehicle towing a trailer that had been seen driving erratically on Hwy. 6, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

The vehicle was found by police where a stop was initiated. Police say at this point the vehicle pulled into a lane way and the driver then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Shawn Douglas Ball, 32, of Wiarton is charged with flight from a peace officer.

He is due to make a curt appearance in Owen Sound on November 3.
