Zehrs In Listowel Makes Big Thanksgiving Donation

The Zehrs Food Market in Listowel is making a big Thanksgiving donation.

On Tuesday, they are marching a convoy of donated food items in carts to the local Salvation Army Food Bank.

"We're going to the food bank, and we have approximately $1,500 of product that we're giving to the food bank, all through donations made from customers and employees here at the store," says Manager Jim Swartzentruber.

The big convoy leaves Zehrs for the Salvation Army Food Bank at 1:15 pm, and on top of the ten shopping carts, ten hampers of Thanksgiving dinner supplies are being donated as well, and the food bank will donate ten free dinners to families in need. Other items, like cases of water and other supplies, are being brought along, too.

Swartzentruber says it's all for the good of the community.

"This is something we like to do, we're big in giving back to the community, and we just felt this would be another added twist to that for us as a store," he says.

Members of the Listowel Cyclones will also march in the convoy, and the team is donating $200 to the food bank as well.
