Goderich Winterfest 2017 Will Include ICEtacular

Plans are being finalized for ICEtacular in Goderich.

Co-ordinator Elizabeth Van Den Broeck says last February's event was a successful component of Winterfest, and they'd like to make it even bigger this year.

Iceculture from Hensall created one of the most popular events at the inaugural ICEtacular with their 40-foot slide and double luge, which allowed kids and adults to race each other down the slide - side by side.

Van Den Broeck says a new event this year will be a battle of the chain saws with two sculptors from Iceculture competing to carve the best ice sculpture.

ICEtacular runs from February 3rd to the 5th as part of the Goderich Winterfest celebration.

Van Den Broeck has asked Goderich council for support and about five thousand dollars in funding. Council followed its normal process and referred the request to budget time.
