Bruce Grey MP Disappointed His Firearms Bills Was Voted Down

The MP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound is disappointed his private member's bill to clarify firearms classifications in Canada was voted down.

Larry Miller's Bill 230 provided a definition for the term variant which is used to classify firearms in Canada, but is not defined in either the Criminal Code or the Firearms Act.

He says the term is used more than 90 times in the Regulations, but the vagueness of the term is causing confusion for law abiding gun owners and hunters.

He says some have seen their firearms become prohibited by the term variant with no consistent explanation.
