A 35-year old Listowel man has been recognized for his fundraisers for various causes.
Chris Kurz has pulled an Olympia through a parade and ran a long distance while wearing firefighting gear -- and it was all to raise money for charity.
This past Saturday, Kurz was presented with the Norm Stirling Citizen of the Year Award.
He says it all started for him when he was encouraged to join the Kinsmen Club and helped with fundraisers to fight Cystic Fibrosis.
"I met someone with Cystic Fibrosis and realized just how hard their life is day to day to live," says Kurz. "Well there's got to be something I can do to get started and that's how the crazy fundraisers started."
And the fundraising isn't finished.
"In the upcoming Paddyfest Parade this coming March, we have a custom made car and we are going to lift and carry a car through the Paddyfest Parade," says Kurz.
Kurz was recognized as part of North Perth Appreciation night.
