Owen Sound Police Issue Advice For Safe Halloween Night

Owen Sound police want to ensure trick-or-treaters have a fun and safe Halloween.

Police are suggesting all children ensure they wear some reflective materials as part of their costume so they can be seen at night.  Children should also be accompanied by an adult.

Children should watch for moving vehicles when crossing the street and carry a flashlight.

Police say children should trick or treat in a well known area, and all candy should be inspected for tampering.

Make up is a better choice than a mask which can obscure vision.

Owen Sound police says they will be out in force tonight, and any offenders will be treated with fines if they're caught speeding or driving while distracted.
