Patriots and Bulldogs Win in PJHL

Mount Forest 3 Wingham 1

The Mount Forest Patriots struck twice in the first period and hung on to beat Wingham 3-1.

Jack Vautour and Ryan Maksymyk scored for the Patriots in the opening frame, both on the power play.

Evan Kuhl put Mount Forest up 3-0 in the second. Carter Stewart tried to spark a Wingham rally early in the third with a power play goal but the Ironmen were unable to score again.

Mathieu Oullette stopped 35 shots for the Patriots. Patrick Do suffered the loss for the Ironmen, allowing three goals on 32 shots.

Kincardine 6 Hanover 4

Kincardine scored three times in the third period to beat Hanover 6-4.

Dalton Hnatko led the Bulldogs with a goal and two assists.

Other goal scorers were Jesse Gunn, Tyler Fregona, Brett Burrows, Keegan McLelland, and Will Rickerby.

Malcom Young earned the win with 33 saves for the Bulldogs.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
