McNiven Named Player of the Week

Owen Sound Attack netminder Michael McNiven is the Huron Tractor Player of the week.

In a release the club says the 19-year-old "shouldered the workload last week," playing in three games for the team.

Last Wednesday, McNiven stopped 30 shots in the Attack's 5-2 win over Guelph to earn second star honours. Saturday, he made 20 saves in Owen Sound's 2-1 overtime victory over Niagara.

The Attack call McNiven's on ice play "dependable and reliable."

He's ranked third in goals against average, fourth in save percentage and fifth in overall wins total.
