Huron East Mayor On Health Task Force

Huron East Mayor Bernie MacLellan says he's very excited about his appointment to an AMO health care task force.

The announcement was made at Wednesday morning's Huron County council meeting.

MacLellan points out that having a rural voice on any AMO committee provides and excellent opportunity to advance the rural perspective at Queen's Park.

MacLellan is a strong proponent of the provincial responsibility for health care funding and has spoken out often about the costs local taxpayers are having to pick up because the province isn't doing its share.

MacLellan says the first meeting of the task force is at the end of this month so he'll get a better idea then of how often they meet and what some of the task force's objectives are.
