Grey County Supports Two Affordable Housing Projects

Grey Council will support two proposals to build new affordable housing.

$2.9-million in funding will come through the Investment in Affordable Housing and Social Housing Infrastructure Fund.

The Owen Sound Housing Company Ltd. wants to build 22 affordable units with rents ranging form $554 to $692 a month.

The project would be eligible for a $2.5-million subsidy on the $4.8-million project.

Community Living Owen Sound and District wants to build six affordable units with a rental rate of $545 a month.

The project would receive 75% funding up to $150,000 a unit.

Eligible projects must have rents at or below 80% of the the average market rent.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
