Volunteers Needed to Pick Apples This Weekend

The owners of Ingram's Apple Orchard on highway 21 just north of St. Joseph are looking for volunteers to help them pick apples this weekend.

Sarah Ingram explains they've had an excellent year and they have more apples than they need so they're asking for volunteers to come out and pick their surplus apples so they can be sent to the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre.

"The majority of the trees that we have are Red Delicious apples and we have an abundance of them this year so those are the ones that we're asking for some help to get picked so they can be donated to the Food Bank," says Ingram.

She says they'll be picking apples today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) from 10am to 5pm and everyone is welcome to pitch in.

The orchards are located just north of St. Joseph on Highway 21.
