Wellington North Planning 'Growth Meetings'

A Wellington North councillor wants ratepayers to be better informed about rapid population growth expected in the next 20 years.

Wellington North is working on a Community Growth Plan that will help the community decide how it wants to handle the expected population boom.

Council went along with Steve McCabe’s suggestion for the first public meeting to be in Arthur later this month, and one in Mount Forest at a later date.

Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox has already been bringing the message to a number of community groups.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
