Official Opening For North Perth Spinrite Child And Family Centre

The North Perth Spinrite Child and Family Centre in Listowel is officially open.

Municipal staff, along with donors and partners, joined the centre staff in cutting a ribbon to officially celebrate the centre Thursday.

April Helmka, who runs the Child Care Centre Staff, says it's amazing that so many people were willing to help make the new centre a reality.

"There's no one word that sums it up. This community gives and gives, and then reaches down further and gives again," she says. "We are so blessed and lucky to live in such a wonderful community."

Debbie Miller, who runs the Ontario Early Years program, says having the new facility speaks volumes about the community of North Perth.

"What I think it says to people looking at our community is we are thinking about the future. We are thinking about all our community members from our babies, all the way to our seniors, and that each and every one is important," says Miller.

The Child and Family Centre is connected to the new North Perth Westfield Elementary school. There are a number of programs and services offered at the new Child and Family Centre, from infancy to children who are beginning public school.
