Huron East Man Charged After Standoff

A Huron East man faces multiple charges after a standoff north of Seaforth.

The OPP had to close a section of North Line Rd. on Wednesday for over four hours because of an investigation.

Specialized OPP Units were deployed to a rural property and in the end a 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Shawn Elliott faces charges of uttering threats, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, cruelty to animals, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He remains in custody and is to appear for a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
