Icy Roads Across Midwestern Ontario

Many local drivers are going to encounter slippery road conditions Monday morning.

Sunday's snowfall and strong wind left roadways quite icy and slushy. Secondary roads are track-bare with frozen sections.  Sanders and plows are out.

Visibility is good to fair, with some minor drifting in open areas because of a gusty northwest wind.

There is a snow squall watch in effect for Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and northern Wellington counties.

Blowing snow will reduce visibility at times in narrow bands of snow off the lake. Accumulations of 5-10 cm of snow are possible through the day and into Monday night in some areas.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
