Open House Monday For Saugeen Shores Recreation Master Plan

The future of recreation facilities in Saugeen Shores will be unveiled Monday evening.

An open house is being held to show off the draft version of the new recreation master plan, which sets out the next 15 years for recreation facilities in Saugeen Shores.

Councillor Don Matheson is chair recreation and active transportation committee and he says there are few surprises in the new plan.

"It comes back and says a lot of things that we knew, we need to improve our facilities, our prices are a little high, we just got to look at everything," says Matheson. "Now it comes down to the wants and needs, what do we want, what do we really need, what can we afford?"

Once public feedback has been received, Matheson says the committee will go back and form an implementation plan for council to consider.

The come-and-go open house runs from 6pm until 8pm this evening at The Plex in Port Elgin.
