Owen Sound Activist Says School Closures Are Killing Rural Ontario

People demanding the provincial government halt school closures are hopeful the government is getting the message.

About 300 people demanding a moratorium on closures rallied at Queens park Monday.

Owen Sound's Judy Keeling was one of the organizers. She says the government doesn't understand closing schools is killing rural communities.

"We're going to die and this is what we're trying to talk about, the message is you're killing rural Ontario. This is a crisis in rural Ontario education," says Keeling.

Keeling hopes the Wynne government gets the message as a result of the rally.

She says they're not going to stop demanding a school closure moratorium.
