Needle Exchange Program Busy In Parts Of Huron County

The Huron County Health Unit continues to work with its partners on a Harm Reduction - Needle Exchange program.

Goderich Mayor Kevin Morrison says the program has been going for three years in Goderich, and there are also similar programs in Clinton and Seaforth.

He adds all of the communities experience more problems in the summer.

Morrison says the health unit works with communities, medical partners and the OPP to not only address the immediate issues of addiction, but also helping people get into some form of long term treatment.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
