Goderich To Consider All Municipal Voting Options

The Town of Goderich is looking at a number of options for voting in the next municipal election.

Mayor Kevin Morrison points out one of his concerns is that given the number of electronic voting options available,  the people who still like the idea of going to a polling station and casting their ballot are being left behind.

Morrison adds while the goal of electronic voting is to make voting easier and thus encourage more voters to cast their ballot, he knows of some municipalities that have gone to telephone or internet voting and had a drop in voter turnout, so he believes the demographic of the municipality has to be recognized.

The mayor believes that regardless of what else they choose, there should be a polling station in Goderich for people who choose to vote that way.
