GOJHL Wrap Up: Stratford and St. Marys Suffer Losses

A hat trick by Kyle Walker led the Brantford 99ers to a 5-2 victory over Stratford in the GOJHL.

Walker's first goal game at 8:05 of the middle frame, unassisted and shorthanded. He scored again on the power play at 13:03 assisted by Mike Finger and Nolan Regan. Finger and Regan would set up Walker for goal number three at 15:49.

The Warriors got goals from Brock Heshka and Keaton Ratcliffe.

Sam Dallas made 27 saves for the Warriors. Aidan Link picked up the win for the 99ers, turning aside 34 shots.

Sarnia 5 St. Marys 4 (2OT)

Back-to-back goals in the third by the Lincoln's Tanner Hertel forced extra time but the Sarnia Legionnaires outlasted St. Marys to win in double overtime.

Alec DeKoning had the game winner at 2:36 of the second overtime.

Both of Hertel's goals game on the power play and both were assisted by Tyson Kielt and Brandon Glover. Glover also scored a goal of his own in the second period.

Tristan Lewis made 33 saves for the Lincolns. Jorgen Johnson stopped 40 shots for Brantford.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
