Goderich Council Seeks Information Before Helping Maitland Golf

Goderich Council is going to form a committee to gather more information before they consider any kind of assistance to the Maitland Country Club.

Mayor Kevin Morrison says he believes the county club would like the town to buy the property and keep the current staff on to operate it but he says he doesn't see much support for that from council.

Earlier this month the non profit organization stated it has a $300,000 debt, and faces receivership by spring.

Morrison says before council can commit to any kind of assistance they need a lot more information about the current situation, so they're waiting for a report from the committee before they make a decision.
