Thomson Tops the Grey Bruce Major Curling League

The Brokerlink Insurance Grey Bruce Major Curling League wrapped up its seven game round robin last night.

Jeff Thomson defeated Don Bartley 3-2 in a rescheduled game last night to claim the top spot in the rankings. Bartley is in second place.

Thomson also defeated Steve Gregg last night. Other games saw Bartley shut out Craig Milburn 7-0, Al Hutchinson down Wade Walsh 6-2 and Les Shane edge Mike Hamer 4-3.

Hutchinson is in third place in the rankings followed by Walsh, Gregg, Shane, Hamer and Milburn.

The first round of the playoffs begins next Wednesday, December 7th in Hanover at 9 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
