The Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board is preparing to rename Mother Teresa School in Walkerton.
The school has been celebrating after Mother Teresa was canonized as a saint.
The school will be officially named St. Teresa of Calcutta
Celebration of Mother Teresa’s life and her journey to Sainthood, and an official ceremony to unveil the new name of the school is planned for May 18.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
The $7.6 million project, which also involved water and sewer infrastructure improvements, began in 2024.
