Arrest Made In Counterfeit Currency Investigation

Police have made an arrest in connection with the use of counterfeit American currency in the Bruce Peninsula and Grey County areas.

Back in July, two men purchased some small items from Springmount Esso Gas Bar in the Township of Georgian Bluffs, using counterfeit American $20 and $50 bills.  There was also similar reports of counterfeit U.S. bills being used at several businesses in Hepworth and Sauble Beach.

On December 2, the OPP arrested and charged 24-year-old Syed Ali Hussain of Brampton with 19 counts of uttering counterfeit money and two counts of possessing counterfeit money. He is scheduled to appear in an Owen Sound court on December 15.

Police are still looking for a second suspect who is described as non-white and having a short black beard. A photo of the suspect can be seen above.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
