Barfoot Acclaimed To Second Term As Grey County Warden

Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot will serve a second consecutive term as warden of Grey County.

Barfoot was acclaimed to the position at Grey County council's annual inaugural meeting Tuesday.

Barfoot says in a county as diverse as Grey, teamwork is the key to success.

"We're one big family and we have to work together if we're gonna get jobs completed and I think we've done a reasonable job in 2016 but I want us to do a better job in 17," says Barfoot.

Barfoot's priorities for Grey County are expanding access to high speed internet, implementing parts of the new transportation master plan, and continued economic development.

He adds Grey County Council will continue to try push the province to adequately fund local school boards so they can stop closing rural schools.
