Jessica's House Hospice Wins $100K Aviva Funding

Jessica's House residential hospice in Exeter has won $100,000 funding from the Aviva Community fund.

The goal is to build a community hospice for anyone from Huron and Perth counties, as a sanctuary for those facing end of life. It will support clients, family and friends from diagnosis until their journey's end.

The 2016 South Huron Hospital Foundation Gala raised $262,000 for Jessica's House.

The facility will offer palliative support and expanded services such as day wellness programs, suicide and bereavement support programs.

The government provides no capital funding for residential hospices, so fundraising has to pay for land, buildings, and furnishings.
