Body Discovered In Palmerston House Fire

Police are investigating after a body was found during a house fire in the Town of Minto.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 2:44pm, Minto firefighters responded to the home on Victoria St. in Palmerston where the body of an unidentified person was discovered while fire crews battled the blaze.

Police say the home was significantly damaged in the fire, and the cause remains unknown.

Investigators with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal will be at the scene Tuesday, along with the OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services Unit.
