The Dutchmen Shut Out the Bombers

Jackson McIntosh stopped all 29 shots he faced as the Kitchener Dutchmen shut out the Brampton Bombers 9-0.

Brendan Valko had two goals and two assists for the Dutchmen. Ben Morris also picked up four points with a goal and three assists.

Adam Kawalec and Connor Cole each scored and added two helpers. Nathan Grossi also picked up three points with three assists. Luke Bignell had a pair of goals.

Kawalec opened the scoring for Kitchener just under four minutes into the game. A minute and a half later Valko put the Dutchmen up 2-0. Morris extended the lead to 3-0 at 14:03 of the opening period.

Cole got things started early in the second with  goal just 34 seconds into the period. Valko scored on the power play just under 9 minutes into the frame. Schmidt chipped in his single at 12:29 to put the Dutchmen up 6-0 and Bignell scored his first goal of the game with just over four minutes left in the period.

Bignell chipped in his second goal at 1:07 of the third and Gavin Apperson scored the Dutchmen's ninth goal of the game at 12:33.

The Dutchmen were 1-2 on the power play and only gave the Bombers the man advantage once with a single two minute penalty.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
