UPDATE: Driver Injured In Head-On Crash Near St. Marys

One person has been rushed to hospital after a head-on crash northwest of St. Marys.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 1:45pm, a Chevrolet compact was travelling south on Perth Rd. 163 when the driver lost control, and collided head-on with a northbound Ford pickup truck.

The male driver and sole occupant of the Chevrolet has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver and only occupant of the Ford was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

Perth Rd. 163 was closed between Line 8 and Line 10 for several hours while officers were at the scene. The road was reopened around 6:30pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
