UPDATE: Perth County Crashes And Power Outages

Gusty winds and heavy drifting are causing issues in Perth County Tuesday afternoon and emergency services are out in full force.

Hwy. 86 west of Wallenstein remains closed between Lavery Rd. and Sideroad 19 following a collision. All other crashes have been cleared.

Perth County roads crews are reporting heavy drifting in areas. Plows are out but officials say roads go from bare to heavily drifted in a snap.

Hydro One says power has been restored almost 1,356 customers who were without power in the Stratford and Shakespeare area. It is not known if the crash near Sebringville was the cause of the outage as the reason is still under investigation by Hydro One crews.

Another outage in the Seaforth and Brussels area was affecting over 1,800 customers, but power has also been restored in that area.

Hydro One is reporting that customers east of Mt. Forest have also had their power restored. There were over 400 customers affected.
