The road is blocked, and smoke was coming from the roof.
Firefighters are working to douse the flames. Fire Chief David Sparling says the fire is under control.
FDNH Wingham and Blyth, along with South Bruce Teeswater and Howick departments are on-scene.
No injuries or damage estimate yet.
There is significant smoke damage to the home.
