Ironmen and Flyers Earn Wins in PJHL

Wingham 2 Walkerton 1

Jeremy Ross scored the game winner late in the second as the Wingham Ironmen edged the Walkerton Hawks 2-1.

Graydon McArthur gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead with a goal at 4:27 of the opening period. Ethan Long tied it up just past the midway point with a power play goal assisted by Tomas Azzano and Carter Collinson.

Patrick Do made 33 saves for the Ironmen. Ryan Winter took the loss with a 22 save performance.

Goderich 5 Mount Forest 4

Tyler Stacey scored the game winner in overtime unassisted to complete his hat trick as the Goderich Flyers edged Mount Forest 5-4.

Jack Francis had the Flyers other two goals, the first unassisted just 48 seconds into the game. The second game shorthanded an unassisted at 3:56 of the second.

Stacey tied the game on the power play with just 34 seconds remaining in regulation.

Branden Bean earned the win with 44 saves. Tyler Reiner stopped 32 shots for the Patriots.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
