UPDATE: Wingham Man Dead In Crash

One man is dead and two other people have injured following a two-vehicle crash between Blyth and Belgrave.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 12:30pm,  a Chevrolet Cavalier travelling south on London Rd. attempted to pass a working snow plow near Morris Rd., and collided head-on with a northbound GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The driver and lone occupant of the Cavalier, 28-year-old Henry Newson of Wingham, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled for Saturday.

The two occupants of the Sierra, a 46-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were are both from North Huron, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. They have since been released.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on December 31, 2016.

London Rd. remains closed between Morris Rd. and Cranbrook Rd. while emergency crews are at the scene. The roadway is expected to reopen by 6:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
