Third Period Surge Gives Hanover The Win

Hanover was held scoreless until the third when the Barons scored three times back-to-back to beat the Flyers 3-2.

Goderich also didn't find the back of the net until the final period, scoring twice in response to the Barons rally but couldn't get the equalizer past Braeden Ellis.

Jarrett Kuntz got things started just 33 seconds into the third and Matt Shields scored back-to-back goals at 1:14 and 8:28 to put the Barons up 3-0.

Riley Connors answered for the Flyers at 8:53 and Tyler McCracken put Goderich within a point of the Barons at 11:25. That was all the offensive output the Flyers could muster and had to settle for a 5-2 defeat.

Ellis stopped 33 shots to earn the win and Branden Bean made 40 saves for the Flyers.

Hanover is now in fourth place in the Pollock Division, four points behind third place Kincardine and 21 points behind first place Walkerton.
