Lincolns Rally to Beat LaSalle

The St. Marys Lincolns played the role of giant killer in the GOJHL, defeating the Western Conference leading LaSalle Vipers 4-2.

LaSalle took an early two goal lead in the first period before the Lincolns took control of the game in the second. Riley Coome put the Lincolns on the board with an unassisted goal at 6:56 of the middle frame. Kenny Chisholm tied the game at 15:26.

Chisholm's second goal of the game in the first two-and-a-half minutes of the third would stand as the game winner. Bill Moskal added insurance with just 13 seconds left in the game.

Tristan Lewis earned the win with 43 saves in net. Eli Billing stopped 27 shots for the Vipers.

With the win the Lincolns move to 7th place in the West, ahead of St. Thomas with 25 points. The Lincolns have one more win than the Stars who also have 25 points.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
