Snow Load Threatens Damaged Buildings In Clinton

There is still no decision on the future of the vacant apartments on the main street in Clinton that were badly damaged by a fire last summer.

Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn explains the buildings are privately owned and any decision will be up to the owners.

The municipality has been talking to the owners and their insurance companies and the buildings have been stabilized, but there is some concern about how well they would stand up to a heavy snow fall.

Ginn adds the municipality would like to see the buildings preserved for their heritage value, but pointed out again that would be up to the owners.
