Contract Awarded For Meaford Hall Balcony Upgrades

Work begins next week to replace the old seats in the balcony of Meaford Hall.

Council voted this week to award the tender for the balcony renovations project to Allen-Hastings Limited for just over $25,000.  The tender price includes a contingency and a non-refundable HST payment.

The total price of the balcony improvements is about $373,000 as it includes other technical improvements.

Deputy Mayor Harley Greenfield hailed the project as a tremendous achievement. Greenfield is the lone member of the present council who also sat on council when major renovations of Meaford Hall began more than a decade ago.
