Snowbirds To Celebrate With Bruce County

The Snowbirds will be flying into Saugeen Municipal Airport to help celebrate Bruce County's 150th Anniversary.

Philip Englishman, the secretary of the airport commission, says it's been a work in progress since August of last year.

"We just applied," says Englishman. "Working with me was Captain Jon Critchfield who is the C.O. of the Air Cadets Squadron and of course Adam Runge who as an ex-air cadet and demonstration pilot with the CF-18 two years ago."

Englishman says they are also working to make the summer air show free to the public.

"I wanted that so people could come at no expense, just come out and enjoy the show," says Englishman.

An advance team of Snowbirds will be at the airport next week to plan their arrival for the June 21 event.
