Power Outage At Georgian College In Owen Sound

A failed breaker scorched the electrical switchboard at Georgian College Owen Sound Campus, knocking out power to the school.

The breaker blew on Thursday, which caused a loud bang, but officials say there was no explosion.

Contractors and staff are now trying to determine what caused the failure, as a breaker trips to protect from further damage from an electrical fault.

There is no word on how long it will take to track down the problem, and the campus is closed for the remainder of the day.

Any update on the status of Friday's classes can be found at the college website at GeorgianCollege.ca.
