Remains Found In Erin Home Destroyed By Fire

Police say human remains were found in a home that burned to the ground in the Town of Erin.

Emergency services were called out on Wednesday after a fire was reported at a home on Eighth Line near Side Rd. 17. The unidentified human remains have been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for further study.

In the meantime, the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services Unit and Ontario Fire Marshal continue to investigate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
