PJHL: Patriots and Hawks Earn Wins

Mount Forest 10 Goderich 2

The Mount Forest Patriots scored five times in the third period to defeat Goderich 10-2.

Blair Butchart scored four goals and set up another to lead the Patriots. Brendon Aitken scored and had two assits in the win. Spencer Holt picked up three points with a trio of helpers.

Branden Bean took the loss for Goderich, allowing five goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Connor Irwin. He made 6 saves on 11 shots in relief.

Mathieu Oullette stopped 26 shots for the win.

Mitchell 4 Wingham 2

Greg Hansford's power play goal at 7:23 of the second stood as the game winner as the Mitchell Hawks doubled Wingham 4-2.

Nathan Templeman led the Hawks with a goal and an assist.

Wingham's Josh Stewart also scored and had an assist.

Graeme Lauersen earned the win with 23 saves. Alex Metzger stopped 17 shots for the Ironmen.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
